WoW is having some server maintenance today so I got some free time to play around... however whenever I launch CSS, it goes through the loading screen then closes instantly. D: Any & all help is appreciated!

Once you give up on CSS, it becomes really moody.

You have to apologize and tell her you won't do it again.

Oh great CSS Gods forgive me for I have sinned! I have betrayed thy in your most weakest of times... Forgive me so I shall once again bring joy to your amazing world!

You prayed to gods that don't exist. Your prayers have gone in vain. :poop:

 It's the curse of gave you for running like a wussy. You should've just got your head blown off in the first place. I had the same problem way back. All I did was reinstall css.

Lol not a single post here has yet been any helpful.

It might again be the problem that many face lately:
Refresh your CS:S content by revalidating the game cache (go to css in library -> properties -> validate game cache)

If it doesn't work, restart Steam and try again.
If it still didn't work, remove ClientRegistry.blob which is located in your Steam folder.
If it still didn't work, try removing all but Steam.exe and steamapps folder and launch steam.exe

If it didn't work, reïnstall CS:S

If it still didn't work, forget about CS:S and play WoW when that works again.
EDIT: sorry CHC your post came before mine (yours was helpful)

I'm sure it wouldn't even let the game begin running if that was the case.
  10. Jul 16, 2012
Nope, I should probably do so... but meh

Tried validating game cache : no go.
    Restarted Steam : No go.

I've uninstalled & currently reinstalling CSS and hoping that it fixes it.

WoW is only down for another hour or so... maybe I will last D:

Lawl I think you'll be just fine.
  12. Jan 27, 2011
Do a restore point to when it last worked.
  13. Jul 16, 2012
Already reinstalling, but had I thought of it I probably would have <3

After doing everything you suggested Coris, still not working...

    I deleted the .blob
    removed everything excluding Steamapps /steam.exe
    Restarting doesn't fix it

Anyone else have any other ideas before I shoot myself?

This seems to be an external issue if that is the case... if you have by any coincidence added a new skin or something or made a horribly big change within the CS:S files, try undoying that. Otherwise, I would have no idea how to deal with this from here on
  16. Jul 16, 2012
I've made no changes to any CSS file & haven't downloaded any skins.

You mentioned you restarted Steam but did you restart your computer.
  18. Jul 16, 2012
Yes, I've restarted it twice now (Windows updates D:smile:

Seems like Valve likes to fuck up people again. I know one with the same problems and still not fixed.
Maybe you can tell me when you fixed it

Also @sajak +1 for the Kessler gif ^^
