Sadly, this only catches an IP at the server level. You have to catch it at the firewall or higher otherwise your bandwidth pipe/server is still being pounded with traffic.

    Thanks for trying though!

Finding the IP is only useful in a DoS attack, not a DDoS attack. In a DDoS attack, the only thing that really will help you is your firewall and how good your hosts DDoS protection is. There really isn't a whole lot you can do to stop a DDoS attack.

That's one way of accepting a new world order. Give your freedom and liberty to government so they can own every computer and you can only use it by logging in with ID, and they will be tracking your actions.

You should think by now there would be an easy fix or something. What I'm wondering tough why isn't there any attack anymore, did you guys catch the guy or something or did he just give up. kinda didn't follow it anymore

The problem is most DDoS attacks are from botnets or computers infected with viruses that make unsuspecting grandma's pc start attacking a server.

Then there is the whole problem of a DNS amplification attack. Maybe the solution is more at the ISP level, but they have zero financial incentive to try and detect malicious traffic and shut it down/re-route it.

We're still getting attacks all the time, but we now have better protection against them:

So we moved the servers from LSN to OVH and revamped our firewalls...

DNS isn't an issue for us anymore.
