Need to start new topic about,
since it was closed to fast.

so when there are custom materials in a map you wanna edit,
(i told you before, you dont got it?)

    you need GCFScape

    Download: http://nemesis.thewavelength.net/index.php?p=26

open the .bsp with it, select the mapname.zip and extract it,
    extract the zip.

you have all the materials what the mapper used in.

to re add the mats you need PakRat
i think you know this program

The first time I tried to download it it wouldn't work. That's why I never got around to it.

Now I did download it, however, it is coming up with this error when I try to run it:

When I get time I'll look this up on YouTube or something.

    I didn't think anyone would notice/I didn't think it was a big deal. So I didn't care. :\

but its usefull for future edit projects

install all this NET framework shit from microsoft

an alternate way is to extract it with current 7zip

    NET Framework is for Pussies!

But if 7zip works then I already have that.

Just didn't know it worked that way. :\

yeah, 7zip can also open minecraft.jar file,
    and a lot more.

but you still need GCFScape to crab things out of
    Valves gcf files...

    I miss understood you.

I thought you meant 7zip could open Valve .bsp's.

I'll start working on this once I get settled down. DX

    Yay College!

    I'm tired. :frown:
