    At least we have Sony/Valve.

But this is getting alot of negativity/backlash towards it. And for a tech that needed a nearly perfect ride to gain mainstream approval....this wont bode well I fear. Probably guessing its gonna hurt it in some way..

    Then again.....no, nvm.

also, here's a good way to show how the "crowd who we're buying into OR/VR" are reacting

It hurts saying this but I do hope Sony's device shows promise. I might actually have a use for my PS4 then. I'm glad there's a backlash, FB is a terrible company that ruins everything they touch.

Sony has 1 thing that Oculus doesn't, a free manufacturing back end. Which is sad because Oculus made this tech as mainstream as is it right now. If Zuckerberg leaves it alone to operate as a subsidiary and doesn't touch it and just funnel money, they may get a edge on competition, else, I fear they won't be able to buckle Sony. Valve is not attached to anything, they can sway themselves to what seems prevalent and of course long-term.

Yeah, regardless on how this ends up ( reading more about it, it seems it may have been a needed move, but a dumb one, ala with the wrong people) the damage has been done. Now they have to regain the trust of the people they just lost, if those people would even look back (at oculus) again. Some things I've read from people stating they wont ever support it now even if they dropped FB lol. Bit overkill imo.

my reaction exactly, minecrafts creator summed up some of the reasons why pretty nicely, hope sony can pick up the torch. FB can choke on a truck load of donkey dicks

        this is a bit disappointing

This is the most stupidest comment of a PR control I've seen since Sony exec when PS3 came out.

Poor Carmack. Goes to expand his mind with new tech, gets bought out by FB to become something he didn't want to.

I'm really hoping that Carmack can still make this awesome. I was sad when I found out that he left id software to go to oculus, but I hoped he would make the oculus rift work well.

I'd love to have one of these things, they say that it's going to be like you're on a vacation but i doubt it will actually make you feel like it.
