Okay, today I got a call from PayPal. NOT. They were pretending to be PayPal. This is how it went:

Hello, can I speak to Zack Harless?

Hello Zack, this is PayPal debt collections. We show you have a negative balance on your account. (I did have a negative balance, no idea how they found this out)

Yes, of course. I was going to pay that off today. I am linking my new bank as we speak.

Thank you Zack, greatly appreciated. Now Zack, we have lost some information on file. Do you mind providing me your PayPal email and Password, along with your social security number.

    One moment please.

(I typed this number in google to find a few results) - http://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHKZ_enUS439US439&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=8773806578

This made it sort of believable, but still suspicious.

I then found many people saying:

Yeah, then I proceeded back to the call:

Hello, I have just done a little research on your number. This is not PayPal debt collections, this is a scam. Identity theft is a felony, and if you ever call me again, I'm going to report you to my local FBI office.

They hung up, and I went ahead to the FBI website and dropped the number by them.

It was either a number spoof or something, because some people on the net say its the real PayPal

Did you try call them back?

Nah, I'm afraid to. I just recently got around 5 subscriptions to gay porn and my Ebay account hacked into and the purchases of G-Straps, Dildos, and etc. Ebay or PayPal won't do SHIT about it either, it really pisses me off. My feedback is fucked and I just had to open a new Ebay account. I get threats of DDOS and all kinds of shit, its a mess.

PayPal should NEVER need to ask you for your password...

If anyone calls you claiming to be PayPal, ask for proof.

If they can't provide any, hang up.

    Simplez!

My boss is a retard...You know that scam about how they ask you to send money for there sick mother in Nigeria? He actually sent a "girl" $2,500...He is completely retarded...

Is it not common sense to not give out your password or Social Insurance Number anywhere?

    At anytime.

Unless you know their is a damn good reason.

If I recall I've seen MANY warning signs just for these kinds of things.

That's wierd. A Nigerian Prince is Dieing and leaving his money to me. How many Nigerian Princes die everyday ?!? I Think this is legit guys

Weirdest thing just happened, they called back and I answered. It was the real PayPal, same number. They were able to provide me with all my information. The first one was a fake, 2nd was real? idk lol

Maybe the scammers disguise their number as Paypal's real number. Just like on Prank Dial, your allowed to change your number to anything.

You can take them to jail for over 5-10 years for credit-card fraud (using your card WITHOUT your consent.), contact the local FBI office, and tell them what happened to your PayPal, and you'll not only get a refund, but those men will be put on trial and have a nice 10 years to think about what they did.

One of my friends had this happen to him once, someone got access to his PayPal account, and the Police found out by IP address and stuff. He's still in jail 7 years later.
I bet the U.S. has the same laws for CC fraud. Do not hesitate to contact authorities, they know how to handle this situation.

Last one that called me... i found out their IP address, and was able to locate them. Shot them and put them in the ICU for two weeks, lulz.

Run virus scans on your computer, you might have something unwanted on your computer. Then change all your passwords. They probably have your paypal already and they are trying to go further by taking your SSN.
Shits weird, never seen something like this.

PayPal is weird, they sent me $330 once for no reason.. I hadn't used my PayPal in probably a year or two and got a random email that they made an "adjustment" to my balance.

I never called or emailed them about their glitch and its still there after a year.. maybe I should spend it.. hmm
  18. Jun 23, 2010
I used to get them everyday, so I stop picking up and blocked their number after a while.

Its not really a virus or anything, but you should start doing virus/malware/trojan/etc. scan every week or daily. Programs I highly recommend is Malwarebytes and MSE (Microsoft Security Essential).

I was sugesting that mabye there was something on his computer that allowed the fakes to get his attention. They presented him evidence only paypal and him would know. Either Paypal was compromised or his computer was. (Or they just tried a gutsy shot in the dark.)

no the best antivirus is Vipre it stops shit when just previewing the page on google cause apparently you can get trojans just by doing that. If you mispell any website name and get thrown to a world of hell like bierlys instead of beirlys you get a virus it stops everything.

Don't in anyway go to any of the beirlys funiture store website for you will get a virus. Please use the internet at your own risk. Vipre is in no way affiliated with bravo one in any way. lol
