Well it's that time again folks the new season is coming up fast with the first race in Australia on March 15-17. With the new season coming to an open also means Spring testing and also teams unveil their cars for the 2013 season along with the two drivers for each team. Teams are not allowed testing during the season they can only test during the Spring before the season officially starts. After that most of the R&D comes through the races and using new components to see what works and what doesn't. The cars for this year will still be using V8 engines that push close to 900 brake horsepower(BHP). The Kinetic Energy Recovery System(KERS) will still be used providing an extra 80BHP during each lap for 6.6 seconds of time that can be used all at once or in small bursts.

The Drag Reduction System(DRS) will be returning this season as well with two changes. You can't have a double DRS system on the car and also you can only use the DRS during qualifying in the DRS zones this is a change from last year where you could use DRS anywhere on the track during qualifying.

Now some teams have unveiled their 2013 cars and here they are.

    Mercedes F1 W04: http://www.formula1.com/gallery/launches/2013/777.html

    Red Bull RB9: http://www.formula1.com/gallery/launches/2013/776.html

    Sauber C32: http://www.formula1.com/gallery/launches/2013/775.html

    Force India VJM06: http://www.formula1.com/gallery/launches/2013/773.html

    Ferrari F138: http://www.formula1.com/gallery/launches/2013/772.html

    Williams FW35 http://www.formula1.com/gallery/launches/2013/783.html

This is only a handful of the teams with the rest unveiling their cars for 2013 within the next weeks.

For those of you that would like to see and hear what it's like from the drivers point of view enjoy.

I received their 2011 version for free for my honesty because I first asked them if I could use their videos for monetisation on Youtube xD they were so surprised I even asked that (I was not allowed to though) so they offered a free game of choice. I chose F1 2011, but in all honesty, I have 0 skills in this kind of driving :worship:

EDIT: After watching the vid I realised this is about the real season... I thought you ment the Codemasters F1 games xD

Beautiful. I love racing, cars and anything to do with automobiles, but I never could get serious about the racing genre in gaming. I do love me some Forza, but it's nothing compared to the real thing. In the first person camera, you can feel the wind and G-forces jerking the driver around. That is what makes driving so fun. Fuck winning or going for the best time, just being able to drive one of these beasts would be a dream. And those G-forces would turn me on. Oooooh baby.

So your a shitty F1 driver then? :clown: @Dirtbag they feel a lot of G's the most I've seen so far was at least 7-8 G's under breaking and like 6 G's in some of the high speed turns. In that video he wasn't going at full speed since he had one eye to drive with and also was doing it on wet tires with a wet track so the speed does drop off a bit.

I ain't a professional driver, so being able to feel that speed is a treat whether it be at top speed or taking a Sunday drive in a F1 car. I could see he wasn't going as fast as he could, you could tell by the whine of the engine. It was less erratic than normal, though he was still taking turns at 100(mph?) which in itself would be fun as shit. Wet tires/track just make it that much better and snow even more so, that's where the beauty of rally comes in.

Yea I'd love to go those speeds as well, it sounds like he's driving in a car that uses a Renault engine they tend to sound like that. Also three other teams have unveiled their cars for the 2013 season.

Feeling gs on a turn is rather satisfying when you feel the car, it's something that fun when I go to museum and they have simulator to test out.

That depends on your definition of shitty. Where I live he would be in the 99.999th percentile
Actually, I did almost go that fast when driving in Germany, 260km/h. So, not to shabby either. Someone once pulled infront of me (into my lane) in the third lane and I kissed the guard rail at that speed - there is nothing like it (although, I really really dont want to experience that again).

Lots of people in Germany are to stingy with their gas. When I was young and visiting my family, my Uncle only went a top of 140km/h on the Autobahn. I was severely disappointed, and now having my own car I have gone 140km/h on the back roads of town. Like wtf Germany.

YES! I love Caterham! Their vehicles are sexy! I mean just look at that thing. An overpowering body at just a standstill. Makes me horny.

They took F1 races away from it? Why and when? IIRC Nordshleife was built for F1 same as Le Mans, so what the hell do they use it for now?

Eww Caterham is a horrid team they hardly ever score any points lol they lucky to get like 10 a season . For the 2013 race the Germany Grand Prix will be at the Nurburgring also silly @-L- not doing his homework lol. The reason why it hasn't been there is that Germany has another track that F1 uses it's called Hockenheimring so sometimes they switch off each year or every few years.

I dont mean the gp track, i mean the 24hrs track which is far more interesting. And it was driven some centuries ago until some horrible crashes...i think it was that niki lauda guy who was in flames

but thats soooo long away..F1 cars are limited(in therms of speed) nowadays already so that they dont have to fear to die if they crash

edit: just imagine ...25km 1 lap... new strategies needed...u cant risk anything, if your tyres are in a bad condition

The cars of today are actually going faster than those cars . Since the cars are much more aerodynamic than in the past. If they did bring back the full length track they would need a much harder tire compounds made and they would have to bring back in race refueling.

I don't care to much about winning. ll I care about is the looks of that beastly car. They took a more box'd approach to it, much like the R500 which I absolutely adore. Design wise I have always been a huge fan of Caterham. Maybe not the fastest cars, but they are one of the most unique companies I have seen, maybe even up there with Rinspeed on being awesome in funny ways.

Ah. I don't watch the races, so I didn't know they switch off between Hockenheim and Nurburgring. I agree with L though, I think it would be cool for them to be on the full length track. The GP track is cute and whatnot, but The Green Hell is by far one of the best road tracks in the world.
