In the market to upgrade my SSD

Currently have a 128GB 840 Pro. Love it so far, only thing I hate is that it's 128gb, not enough storage.

Selling my Galaxy S4 today and looking at either a 256gb 850 Pro or maybe a 500gb 840 Pro.

    Thoughts?

Those are going to be super expensive, no? My price range is $200 pretty solid.

Probably when they first release, yes. I would wait for the price on these to go down since it is a significant performance increase over a sata ssd.

SSDs over SATA3 are fast enough, especially if you're just using them for games. Most games don't do a lot of read/writes as you're playing, so SSDs usually don't impact games past loading times.

Which is why I don't really need a PCIe ssd. A sata drive will work just fine.

Samsung all the way for SSD's IMO.. still using my 128gb 840 pro, think my brother has the EVO. 850 should be within your price range I think.

Top is an EVO, bottom is a PRO.

If you want a 500gb might wanna stick with an 840 due to price (actually looks like a 500gb 840 pro is 299.99).

Do you think the price difference is worth the performance difference between the Evo and Pro?

Problem is, if I don't spend the money now I won't have it.

Bills and such. Who pays those...

I don't completely understand that logic but either one should work well for you. There isn't really a wrong answer here.
