New ZM Map in the Works?

    I decided to do something with my free time (witch is mainly nights) That is to make a ZE map...
    Im hoping i can bounce some ideas off you guys :grin:
    Heres my list of things i came up with:
    • Theme
      • I had an idea of a undergroud/basement of a factory?

    • Any particular rooms?
      • e.g control room? if so, what can it control.
      • Secret room?
      • Admins Disco.
      • Break room
      • Management room
      • lots of normal rooms with props :grin:
    • How many player slots?
    • 65 Slots
    • The dick of peter!
    • Aviod vents!
    If there is anything you think i could add to that list, please say
    ANY idea will be great :grin:

    For that factory think i made a quick spawn (can have loads more work done on it)

    Definitely needs an admin room where ONLY ADMINS ARE ALLOWED TO KNOW THE PASSWORD.
    That or a disco room. :shock: ADMIN DISCO ROOM.

    Ok now that thats out of the way you need to put a hidden wall with a picture of a long haired guinea pig on it

    Also put some rooms like storage rooms like any factory would have, under the floor of one put at least 7 fire barrels and a floor with the health of like 2k+ so when they shoot the floor, the barrels explode and everyone in that room gets fucked.

    In the control room if you do make it, add a small monument to me, it can be in the shape of a dick or a toaster, I'm not to big on what it just needs to be something cool so people will be like "GOD DAMN IT SON OF A BITCH ITS PETERS CUCUMBER STATUE!"

    Anyway getting past that, put enough rooms in it just so we can fit everyone in the server on the whole map without there being space issues.

    Thats all I can think of right now.

    I like the idea of a room that when you shoot the floor everyone in there gets fucked up the fire barrels, maybe a a way were zombies can break it (not the whole floor)
    Lol, It would have to be a dick....
    Admin disco room... yes! Maybe on the roof of the factory? :grin:

    I have "mocked" up a car park... where there will be some kinda entrance to another set of rooms and what not.

    More idea!!?!???!

    Stack of boxes, like the unbreakable ones, but have a side up covered in breakable ones(so nubs can get pwned).

    maybe a "break room" with a few vending machines and some couches? A nice defendable places.

    Maybe a "Manager office" Like a small office a floor up with two ramps up from difference directions, along with a sneaky vent falling from the roof to kill 'em.

    you could also put a few white trucks backed up to the edge of the building like they're being loaded, those are popular to use.

    also red crates inside would make sense since it's a factory.

    And Peter, if only admins know the password, how are players gonna kill ya? it's a good idea but why not have it only accesable by Admin teleportation, so you know ONLY admins can get to it.

    If you are going to make a password make sure it does not show what buttons are being pushed to others. :grin: (like atix)

    Things that are popular:

    Lots of rooms, and the rooms, make stuff in them, like bookshelves, soda machines, couches, etc

    Or you could make a room with a door that opens, and put one couch in the room (just like on the map Deep_thought)

    Maybe a few rooms with hidden entrances: walls that u can walk thru, or trap door in the floor

    The white trucks are probably a good idea too

    Make some areas brighter, and some areas a little darker.

    The stacking boxes are fine, just make sure u make more than one way up

    You could always try to incorporate an invisible ledge (make it wide enough for at least 2-3 ppl)

    If its a parking garage, you could always use the vehicles to make some good camping areas, like relatively narrow areas which are good for humans to camp in groups

    All maps need 64 spawn points, since we are a 64 player server :smile:

    Try to avoid any vents

    I wrote all that shit when I was high and came back to look at it and I approve.

    Also, admin teleporting is against the admin rules. We're gonna have to do the trust system, admins only, no non-admins. At all. I don't know what you can do but before it puts them in there, make it drop their health by 150, because admins have the increased health and regen, anyone that doesn't have it will get dead.

    Merge think of it like that map Bort made for John, the one with the really big field and the two laser turrets, we need shit like that.

    I will make a entrance for zombies to get in, but youd have to search the map, or make it hard to get in :grin:
    I do know there is a way to only let a particular team in... like on T or CT is allowed in... i can try and find out how to do that for the main entrance.

    What? Big turrets? if its necessary i can get those turrets... bit would you find shit like that in a factory?

    Great ideas coming up here :smile: I shall mock something up later, and add to what i have :grin: Still if you have an idea tell me :smile: (What i do is look at the real outside, and get ideas from there)

    I dident mention, if you can map and have an idea, make something up on sdk and send it to me :smile:

    Have the room be like a "Security" room with alot of guns and stuff. have the hallway leading to it being lined pipes shooting out steam, thus doing damage! Have the steam cloud be large enough that to walk all through it you'd take more then 100 damage! This way admin/donators get through the hallway and into the room. But zombies could go through the steam and live too!


    You could have a crazy drop since admin/donators/zombies don't take fall damage, just have a giant drop down a hole, then a room at the bottom.

    Of course if you use these ideas I demand a picture of The Hamburglar in the map. :grin:

    I could incorporate the drop with steam or w/e.
    I mocked up a break room with lights working and what not, need to modify some stuff to make it look good :smile:

    Get me a pic, and ill see what i can do :grin: , ill get a wall of pF pics :wink: maybe :grin:

    if you use a drop it should be high enough so any human who jumps down dies, but a zombie/admin/donator skin don't take fall damage, so they'd live.
    hmm....A drop with steam would make it a noob free hiding spot. :grin: :grin:

    And the control room could control lazurs that would fire down a main hallway(A button, not controls or noobs will hog it) figure you time it so it cn be fired like ever 20-30 seconds?
