This is a welcome change of rule; but I'm curious if this implies there's a system to prevent the mature sprays being visible to younger players? I'm just curious; because having some kid just go @sprayv is still a bit of a risk imo.

Its similar to porn sites having a "you must be 18 to enter" splash page, so it's not a primary concern

Awesome idea except when a parent or concerned adult files against the server for sexually explicit content within an open server. Having kids playing and being subjected to adult themed content is not only objectionable but a lawsuit waiting to happen.
My being personally subjected to crappy porn while not requesting shows a definite hole in your logic. I'd suggest revisiting your recent change.

Unfortunately from a legal perspective it is NOT the same. Having an opinion and it actually being factual legally are two distinctly different things.

http://www.it.cornell.edu/policies/university/privacy/responsible/illegal.cfm has a nice breakdown of what can be construed as legal and what cannot. This is directly from the site:
      Distribution of pornography to minors
Possession of non-obscene adult pornography is legal, but it is illegal to distribute to minors.

The servers are currently distributing porn to minors. Just trying to help here and keep you aware as having the FBI seizing your servers due to your ignorance of the law will not change you being put our of business.

I agree with some of that, mainly that if there are porn sprays there should be a warning when entering besides what the current warning is. Perhaps is the mature sprays are disabled automatically and players have to type the @sprayv if they want to allow it. Maybe even some type of warning where in a case some squeaker types @sprayv and consents to having porn sprays, and a parent sees it and is like "omg timmy, porn! on the internet! on a rated M game! ima sue for the protection of my timmy!" there is at least some user end consent where he abided by enabling them.

However Hugz! there are many adult servers in that have been around for a long time that have porn with warnings just like what Seeker said.

Counter-Strike: Source is rated M (17+) and it's online interactions, like most (all?) are not rated at all. As long as we keep the kiddie porn banned, I don't think we'll have anything to fear from the law.

        This is currently the case.

What jurisdiction does the FBI have in Canada?
Contact Valve Software. Even if the decal isn't sprayed the files are still distributed.

As an alternative, contact the ESRB or another American organization that rates these games. I don't know who you're pretending to be, however all this change does is protect unsuspecting kids. There are tens, if not hundreds that have pornography in their MOTD, we don't have this. Get a grip.

They will, either to a limited party, or to everyone.

I've noticed that ALOT of sprays that aren't mature are marked as mature, I try to unmark using *sm_spraym "target"*, And it says [Spray] PlayerName: Mature Toggled: Off.
Then they spray it again, And I use !spray and it's still marked as mature.
                Is this a bug?

As far as non-mature sprays being marked as mature, it's possible people are changing their sprays from mature to not. Otherwise, we might need to talk with individuals about what is considered mature. I haven't heard much as far as complaints regarding that, so hopefully, we're mostly on the up and up with that.

I haven't experienced this bug, if you're sure they sprayed it again after you unmarked it, I have no clue.

Did you wait 2 rounds and check it again? Sometimes there's a delay.

                  Kyro,
I would agree with you, except the game is rated M not X, so many parents (or law enforcement) would say it is illegal. I like the servers and have been a very long time player in them and many know me. I would NOT say anything unless I truly believed there would be some negative legal (for PF) ramifications. I'd hate to see PF servers confiscated along with the domains due to some somewhat shay opinions as to what is legal or not.
The specific spray I saw was an animated GIF of 2 guys going at it. Way past graphic! Most players coming in are there to socialize and enjoy, not have a gay 'minority' shove explicit XXX-rated pics down their throats. That specific spray and the spraying of it could (and most probably would) be considered as 'grooming' towards under-agers.

Lol Law Enforcement has better things to do than worry about porn in a mature video game, not to mention it would be the player's wrongdoing, not the servers. In fact, valve implemented the ability for players to use their own GIF's so it must be valve's fault right? You are mental if you think any legal ramifications would happen as a result of this.

I'm not 'pretending' to be anyone except a player in the PF servers who is raising a concern regarding a new policy. MOTD's are seen momentarily upon entering a server and can be specifically pulled up by a player, whereas the sprays we are discussing are continuously seen.

Continuously seen after you choose to type !sprayv or have a mature spray yourself. By default, you will see mature sprays as frequently as you did when we had the no porn rule. I don't see the problem.

Disable the sprays and move on with your life. Here is a life pro tip for you, if you feel that "gay 'minority' explicit XXX- reated pics" are being shoved down your throat you can A) deal with it B) disable mature sprays or C) fucking move on with your life.

"but I don't want my little timmy to see graphic sprays of boobs and naked wyman in a game where people kill each other"

I wonder if this HUGZ guy at all read the fact that the servers are in Canada. I'm pretty sure if Canada had a problem with it, they would say " Please sir, take the nudy sprays down, thank you", you know in true Canadian fashion.
