harvey, this thread brightens my day. Even though i haven't bought anything, seeing things real

I own a Hp laptop and i was wondering what exactly do you have to do in terms of taking it part to change your graphics card. Also, since i have a crappy Hp Pavilion dv6, what would be the best thing to do to increase the speed of my comp? My graphics card is an AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250. Is that really bad?

    Processor:

    2.30 gigahertz AMD Turion II P520 Dual-Core
    256 kilobyte primary memory cache
    2048 kilobyte secondary memory cache
    64-bit ready
    Multi-core (2 total)
    Not hyper-threaded

Unfortunately your options are limited in upgrading laptops. There are really only three basic things you can internally upgrade on a laptop:
    1. Memory (RAM)
    2. Hard Drive
    3. DVD/Blu-Ray Drive
Graphics such as NVIDA/AMD are typically built into as part of the laptop motherboard so there is nothing you can do Internally.

There are external product available on the market to provide additional graphics capabilities using a USB connection, but they are not that great of a solution either.

I might snap this up, budget permitting. (I need some new outerwear & shorts.)

Dude, Ludicous. Let's DM sometime. Which UT do you play?

Dopescope: start saving up for a new rig/laptop. Those specs look dinosaurish to me, imo.

If you need to wear something on your wrist fast (bare wrists feel awkward, imo), opt for these inexpensive Casio watches. (At Amazon. Think: less than $10)

Very well built for its price. Clean design, the Casio name & quality to boot. Makes for an inexpensive yet nifty gift to anybody and to yourself.

All Thanks goes to Harvey for this little monster. Tossed it into a temporary computer, but it's still very high performance. From the start of turning on my computer to being fully updated and working, it took 3min and 25seconds....
In the end I paid $69.99 with free shipping (compared to $119.99 w/ $7 shipping)

(This was playing in my head as I opened this and installed it... skip to 1:30!)

I'm glad you got a good deal! In the Graphic Cards Performance Charts, the 6770 is rated in the category of high end video cards. It is also rated #1 in the cost/performance category.

Yes I've been trying it on a ton of games and I'm maxing out at 1920x1080 on a bunch of them. I'm running stable with 960core clock and 1400mem clock through Overdrive... Funny thing is, it runs surprisingly cool.

    I owe you big time!

(I'm suprised it's running so well in such a basic computer.)

Kyle gives the best ones. Nobody can find a better price than Nikon's camera that Kyle mentioned. <_<
