Im thinking of getting a new video card. As some of you may know, i use a iMac mid 2011 running Mac OS X Lion. It has an AMD Radeon HD 6750 512 MB video card. Well long story short, i suck at choosing things. So i was wondering if any of you know any good video cards that are compatible with my iMac. I was thinking about a AMD Radeon HD 6850 but i am skeptic about it.

I thought you cant upgrade mac video cards on your own. Only the ram is easily accessible and upgradable.

I think you may need to hand it into the shop to upgrade it. >.<

    (I think)

6850 would be a strong choice, it plays most mid-level games maxed out and I'm pretty sure it would be worth it.

Honestly, I've never gone near Macs, so I've no clue. Though, if you're looking for a new video card, perhaps you should look at a 2012 video card, such at the 7850/7870, since they have better/newer/more efficient technology built into them.

I was looking at those. But i saw that the Radeon 6850 have much better rating than both of them which is why im interested in the 6850.

FYI, more than 50% of reviews written for items are companies that made the item, or competing companies trying to put it down.

I don't think that they are tbh. But if you were to be gaming, why not build a $700 budget gaming PC?

a 7850 is a great choice they do have some on sale for around $200ish at times... I have a HIS Radeon 7850 myself and love this card. Should get 300+ FPS in CS:S easily.. as for other games I get 60 FPS on Skyrim Maxed Ultra Settings and have yet to OC my card.. but as for actually installing one in your iMac Idk good luck with that. 7850 easily one of the best value cards on the market today.

I'm quite sure now that you can't even upgrade.

      P.S. What's "Macs" backwards?
