Discussion in Gaming started by Bender Bending Rodriguez, Jan 11, 2013

Will a FPS driven Walking Dead interest you more then a Story driven one?

If you have played The Walking Dead Game, you will know how awesome it was and how great the story is and can't wait till Season 2 to come out this year (soon for episode 1 I hope). Also answer the poll in disregard to the following paragraphs

The Walking Dead Game is made and published by Telltale Games famous for Sam & Max, Monkey Island, Back to the Future. Their game took off because of their development philosophy and that story driven games is important than shooty/runny.

Activision saw how successful the Walking Dead Game was and how the Walking Dead Show is popular and decided to make a FPS Walking Dead game based on the show where you follow (presumably) Daryl and Merle. Take COD Zombie mode and reworked it to fit the Walking Dead motif.

Here's the problem. At the end of December a gameplay footage trailer which showed plastic hair on every zombies, what looked like meh graphics, and not so well done actions was released.

This games is slated to release in March 2013 (thus in 2.5 months) and that's the gameplay footage. Every one figured out that their are riding on the back of Telltale success in order to sell their games. Which might besmirched the good name of the Walking Dead with a quick move to make money. Because we all know how Activision is hurting for cash :frownbig: .

Activision response was to release a actual launch trailer.

Never mind the fact that it looked like it was shot at the actors homes on Sunday night after outcries to work on it more. But to set a March release with no footage, no trailers, minimal information, some artwork, and developers complaining that the gameplay footage was from months ago without providing anything more. Most gaming blog think that this is a joke with such titles as:

Also, no PC version. So most of you will probably not fall trap to their wicked ways.
