So I finally found people interested in my iPad, and I have enough money to start buying/getting parts for my computer.

Basically here is what I know. I need everything besides crazy HDD's (I have 3tb external). I was thinking maybe a ssd/hdd combo?

I want it to be a high powered gaming machine (who doesn't) so I figured i would drop the most on a GPU, Processor, all of that. I am open to questions and the such as I really don't know anything about... anything lol. I do want to do Eyefinity, so multi monitor support is important to me.

My budget is ~$1000, though I could go a bit more if it's worth it.

We went over this, I gave you like 2-3 perfect build ideas XD

    Intel 4670k http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899

    ASRock Z87 Extreme3 or 4 (depending on how many options you want) 3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157372 4: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157369

    Corsair H100i http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181032

For GPUs wait until the AMD R9 series fully reveals itself, because you may want to jump on them instead of a 7950.

Any fucking RAM with a decent heatsink. RAM is RAM, don't let the bullshit advertising tell you otherwise. I'd go with 2x8GB.I have no clue why it's so expensive when I got 16GB last year for $70.
    XFX 850W PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207024

Rosewill 850W PSU (Rosewill is hit/miss with their products, but their Bronze Series PSUs are amazing. This came with MANY MANY options and has a sexy 'not-too-bright' LED fan): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182188

Corsair Carbide Case (because it's excellent cooling and the H100i fits right in the top, not getting in the way of anything): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139010

Arctic Silver thermal paste because fuck you if you use that stock Intel shit goop: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007

Any of these SSDs: Samsung 840/Evo, Plextor M5/M5P, Corsair Force Series GS/Neutron Series, Kingston HyperX, and Toshiba is now in the SSD game and their hardware looks promising. They have a 256GB for $150. Might want to look at that.

And DO NOT FORGET: Get 2 of these for your H100i, they are fluid bearing fans that will last a life time. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835553005

I also highly recommend you get a fan controller to connect the Cougar fans to for when you need that extra boost of cooling. There's a bunch you can get, but the knob ones work the best. The LCD screens aren't the most friendly, but there's a decent NZXT one.
    Here's a few:

Haha I know, I just never saved them so I had no idea when it came time to look.

Side note I forgot to mention, is water cooling worth it/ affordable? I have severe heat issues with my laptop right now, so I want to take all the protective steps I can.

The h100i is a zero-maintenance, closed-loop, water cooling solution that will work wonders. You can set it to auto or run manual profiles, however you'd like. I definitely recommend it, especially on a higher end build, because it'll make your CPU last and you'll be able to make use of the "K" in 4670k =P 4.5GHz BABY! You'll get many years out of it because the lower temps will result in lower wear and tear on it. A CPU running @ 70C constantly will need to be replaced a lot sooner than a CPU running @ 50C constantly, but I doubt you'll even be up to 50C. My V6 GT air cooler manages to keep my 2500k @ 4.0GHz below 50C 98% of the time.

Wow. My laptop idols at 70 and games and ~80 if I have like 4 fans on it lol.

Laptops for gaming is like wearing jean shorts as a man. It's just not meant to be. If anything I'd get one of those beefy as fuck Asus/Lenova/MSI/CyberPowerPC laptops for decent cooling solutions.

I am getting this buzzing noise from the computer I built in June. I am pretty sure it's because of the h100i but in the future I plan on doing custom water cooling. Also, there is still risk of it leaking so I don't know how long the h100i will last.

Yeah my Hp Pavilion was not the laptop to game with. But it has at least survived two years. So I can't complain. But being that I can't update my AMD Radeon 5650, I think it's time to do so with a new tower.

Well the stock fans were complete shit with the H100, and are just as shitty with the H100i. That's why I told Zenzr to get the 2 Cougar fans with fluid bearings, making them last forever and work silently. The risk of leak is very very very low, and would take some extreme environments for it to happen. The new ASRock Z87 boards also have a bit of waterproofing too, it sounds crazy but it's actually pretty great.

Yea, the fans are shit. I should change them. The waterproof motherboard seems to be performing as it should. I will consider that in the future.

Updating this, as I am finally getting money from birthday's what not that I haven't for a year or two. Hopefully my iPad sells so I can buy something. I'm excited!

@Brett: Once I actually get everything, would you be willing to help me put it all together and what not? I'd feel better knowing I have experience helping me lol.

Yeah, no problem. If you have some type of webcam I'd be able to further assist you as well. Like I always say, "If I have to sit on a webcam with you telling you how to put it together part by part, instead of buying a pre-build, then that's what it takes."

Let me know when you're going to start buying, within about 2 weeks of the actual purchasing. This is so prices don't change as much and you'll be able to take advantage of Newegg's Iron Egg 14-day guarantee on pricing.

Will do. My iPad has to sell yet so hopefully it'll be soon.

      Totally incorrect!

I don't believe AS5 is the best bang for your buck anymore.

What are you looking for this machine to do?

Arctic Silver is about $7-8, and sometimes I recommend Tuniq TX-4 but that's about $12-13. What compound do you think is the best?

It's going to be my gaming rig, but at the moment I only have ~$1000 to spend to build it. Probably going to be constantly updating changing it as needed to keep it as current as possible.

Brett, I know I'm being nit picky, but does that case come in black? I'd rather almost any color but white lol.
