zm_deep_thought_redux

    This map rebuild was a side project to help keep me from burning out on zm_3dubka.

    zm_deep_thought_redux is a from scratch rebuild of zm_deep_thought_nv. The two primary aims for the rebuild are improving visual quality and uniformity, as well as balancing the map to have more areas to barricade, instead of the same 3-4 spots everyone flocks to.

      Damn...loving the sounds around electronics when your near it....gonna use that idea too woot credits to the gbite :grin:

      I just recorded the sounds from two SCSI drives I had lying around and looped them. You need to reduce the quality and make the sound mono so it doesn't become a monstrous WAV file.

      I've gotta hand it to you, GB. You took a map that is a classic favourite of mine and a few other oldies here at PlagueFest, and gave it a refreshing breath of air that will accommodate our servers' size wonderfully. I'm absolutely speechless! Thanks for your time and effort!

        Giga why dont use convert the wav files into mp3 it makes it smaller. Do you use mp3 or wav files?

        The problem with mp3s is you can't add loops to them. I'd have to use a soundscape and those are annoying.

        This is awesome! It is so different i could barely recognize that it was deep thought. I say keep both versions because they are drastically different. GOOD JOB!!

        Heh, whoops. Map had a crash bug and uploaded a new version. New link in first post.

        It probably won't be tested again for like another week, retslag is lazy.

          EDIT: I have no idea if it's an entity type or whatever, but a door spun the other way (through the wall). I'm very confused.
