48 players and lag :|

    like kyle said in the other thread the server cant handle 48 players which is surprisingly more common as of late. :neutral:

    Ok so this would be my question on the whole thing. If you have a 64 slot box running and lag was ok but you cut down to 48 with the same box shouldn't there be less? Also with the current attacks going away from mani help with the issue on the box as well. Just saying if you think about it if the box can be with as less lag as possible where game play is at it's best players will continue to fill up the server. With this happening the server could reach a packed state to where you actually have people not able to get into it because it is full which in a way would be a good thing. Kinda like if somone wanted into a club but couldn't cause it was packed out, making it something everyone wants in. When this happens we could go back to a 64 slot reserve to take on the extra capacity.

    not when all the necessary files were ported from a server configured to handle a lower number of players. As secondary said, it takes a lil bit of time for the optimizations to be worked out

    We're in the process of removing mani all together and putting in another admin mod, which will possibly be much less load on the server. As as you stated, the server is made to handle 64 players, yes you are correct. However the 64 players stand for ordinary CSS not zombie mod. Zombie mod is very extensive on the CPU with it processsing all the soda machines and racks players are shooting to barricade from zombies. This physics is somewhat the cause of why we have this lag. Another thing is, ever since we had that "grand server wipe with windex" we lost alot of optimizations because we recovered from a previous server config.
