Admin needs to verify all new forum members

For people that want to register on the forums you will now need to verify your email, and than get admin approval.

The reason I decided to add this was to the amount of porn videos, and links that have been posted by registered users. These even have appeared after we added e-mail verification.

Now this person has figured out that you can post in select areas with a guest account or validating account so i have went through the painful and boring work of changing all the forum access levels or permissions.

Yeah, we definitely have to get tough on this problem (it's just as bad as porn sprays in the server). I check the forums at work, and unfortunately I have to avoid clicking on any posted links, as many turn out to be **surprise** inappropriate porn.

I think e-mail verification will do justice, no need for admin approval. If that doesn't - just start banning users and IP's, regardless of dynamic IPs- admin approval is a pain.

It is back to normal i was just pissed off becuase of the last 2 days. Just the same idiot im assuming posting it. I think i already banned his ip before maybe i missed it.

Perhaps one IP was his home IP and the other is his work IP...

or he has a dynamic IP... I've counted at least 5 IP's from the same post content, latest one 125.143.102.208, most of the time it starts with a 222.

That would be unfortunate... At least with two static IPs, we can cover all our bases... I don't have a clue how we would handle a dynamic IP.

Well ive stopped the same guy about 4 times now from registering. He is still trying to seems.

Perhaps he is trying to see whether you will eventually get bored of this.

Yea another account has just registered with the ip 220 and .info email... Im not gonna get bored of this and will keep admin validation on as long as it takes. Im beginning to wonder if this is a bot that is doing this automatically. I dont know... I dont think bots though can read what is on the screen for the number thing.

I saw some guy spray some picture of animals raping each other, but there were no other admins on. I couldn't get his ip because I didn't know how, so if you could tell me how, in the future, I'll report IP's.

I put on email verification back but .info emails will not be able to register or post.

So ya have my email and everything else. Now i have to be approved becuase i might do something wrong with a link? Pff... makin a porn link is to much work for me, to lazy to even care.
