Can't play tf2!

Everytime I start tf2 it starts up normally, i try to go in a server, and... "Engine Error - Couldn't allocate server ip port"
anyone know how i can fix this? I r nub who knoes noethingz.

try connecting directly to the i.p

I dont know how to do that but I restarted my comp and that seemed to fix it...

so basically i wasted my time
