Can't Start up CS:S??

    Hey guys... its Pink. Been playing a lot of COD4 lately, but I've been trying to get back to PF. However, when I click on my desktop icon for CS:S, it says" Preparing to start CS:S" And then it doesn't do anything. I've disabled all my background programs and whatnot, and deleted and re-downloaded to no avail. Anyone have any clues?

    Is hl2.exe in the process list?

    before u do what cam suggested. Restart your computer. Then start steam. Then try CSS.

    could your virus scanning software be blocking it? mine did and it wouldnt let me open untill i put the hl2.exe or whatever in trusted zone

    Have you done a full restart of your computer, AKA Shutting it down and letting it sit there for a good 5minutes.


    If all else fails it maybe time to go to your command prompt and type a nice: format c:

    Backup your data first.
