Clan Member Banned

Some of my clan memebers found your zombie server, they liked the server, so we started to make regular visits to the server, four some times five of us all jump on and kill some zombies. Works for us to have fun, works for your server to have good, non-hacking players from a repectable clan playing.

Today we were playing on the server and one of my members was kicked and banned by an admin named aceros, I asked this admin why he had banned on of my memebers. His response was because the smilely face spray of his was smoking a joint.

So I typed motd to see if there was a rule about that type of spray. I found no rules at all. No were does it say that any kind of spray will get you banned.

Is this normal for you guys to just ban people for something that trivial? without even a warning? If this is the way you run your servers, I am very suprised that they have anyone playing on them at all. You have a popular server, that is not easy to do, don't let a few bad decisions or bad admins ruin that for you.

It really doesn't matter if you un-ban my clan member or not. I am seriouly thinking about forbiding my members from playing there all together. Please tell me that this was all a mistake or something, we should be founding alliences with our neighbor clans, not having trivial problems like this.

Atcually, this is not abuse, as I believe this was one of the rules put in place on the server.

Aceros is one of the higher up people and im not sure why the player was banned. Aceros will respond to this. I will not unban him and am going to leave it up to aceros but since you took the effort to make a thread most likely aceros will take off the ban. Its up to him though. Actually the server does say no drug or porn sprays and results in permanent bans. I might talk with aceros and cam about making th erules more clear like when you first join the rules will be on the front image so you can read them before proceeding. But messages do pop up saying drug and porn sprays are unacceptable just due to the players we have in the server.

I apologize for being inconsiderate and rude. I will not run my mouth again on the server or the boards.

Ive seen that spray yesterday if im thinking about the right one and have sent the guy 3 warnings about it with slaps so he knows who is getting that warning.

well, thanks for taking the time to read this and go through this in a good manner like evil had, i will personally tell the few that have drug sprays to be weary of not using it in your server. although for wombat to reply in a sort of immature matter while not even being there, was a bit annoyed at that. but to aceros and the rest. if it is not decided by my higher ups to no longer play on your server, i will make sure that they dont use any drug sprays.

I know as an observer, I just joined your server today for the first time. Took forever to download all the mods. As I was playing, I saw no adverts or MOTD pertaining to sprays and the rules of sprays. But, then again, with all that was happening, they could have been missed.
Evil pretty much well put the grievance.
As a server admin though, just an advice, you need to better display the rules in your MOTD and adverts so there are no mis-understandings. I know myself I did not see those rules before mentioned.

Ace, I believe there's a mani script where users can type /rules and it will display the server rules on their screen, or in the MOTD, not sure how it works but its similar to the one made for CS 1.6

I'll try to find it or maybe you already know of it? If not I'll search around.

Erumm... was Wombat even on the server during this occurrence?

Thanks to all for taking the time to respond. I am sorry we did not see your rules, as a clan that has rules on our servers, we can appreciate that. I think your adverts may be broken, I have never seen them, I try to place our rules in the motd with font that grabs your attention, and then you can just tell people to type motd and read the rules at any time.

I will allow my members to play on your server with the warning not to spray "drug" sprays. I hope this "incident" doesn't damange any friendships our two clans might be able to have.

P.S. We dont all do "drugs" and I don't consider marijuana a "drug" as it is not man made like alcohol or other drugs and is also availible for medical uses.

And FYI, the reason why we disallow drug sprays is because we have kids that play on the server.

I don't think the MOTD is a great place to display the rules of the server. Most players immediately click OK without reading the MOTD at all, I know I do. I'm going to look into that /rules ordeal, actually -- in mani we can set that as a shortcut and make a simple webpage that can load that has the rules.

Like you guys mentioned earlier if we have something set up as !rules that wuld pop them up we could havbe pop up messages saying type !rules for the rules. Also the admins could say it once and a while so none of the regulars would be like i didn't know.

Exactly. There are kids like ME constantly in the server. I'm on the higher end of the maturity of people our age.

I totally 100% agree with the rules, but I think parents should properly understand what the hell their children are playing before going 'Oh thats fine happy birthday' then have the kid act out and blame the game or whatever. Hopefully you understand what I am saying.

Are you trying to state we should blame parents for not filtering the games their children play so that servers such as PlagueFest don't have to ruin the porn drug sprayin' fun for all the 16+ players?

Ha ha, no, not at all. It was more of a statement about parents blaming videogames that they buy their own children even though they are not age appropriate.

But again, in no way am I blaming PF in anyway shape or form, haha.

While being on the server I have seen many Drug/Porn sprays and no one said anything about it. I find that some admins only punish certain players and turn a blind eye to all others. Any thoughts on this?
