yup on one server they had a custom plugin where if u type in chat !vote it will open a MOTD style window to vote so they can get not only votes from ppl on forum but on server as well
CSS top 50 and 100 are based off of a rigged system. We are on ggtop50.com and we use to be on zm but Kyle asked them to remove us from it
This. They won't openly admit it, but the vast majority of those "top 100" server sites for games are extremely rigged. When I GMed on some other games in the past, we actually found out just how corrupt a lot of those sites can be. For example, taking "bribes" in the form of a donation in exchange for ensuring you have a set place higher in the list. I'd avoid those sites at all costs.
I dunno about you guys, but when I play on servers I usually look for a map that I like or a high server population, so if we have both of those, we will attract more players.
