I was curious, if most gamers preferred gfx or gameplay in their games? Basically - would you purchase a game based on its graphical appeal or do you prefer the gameplay addiction?

I perfer gameplay, since I play with myself alot, I like to get into what I do when I play by myself.

I don't want a nice fucking picture, if I did I would Go to a art gallery.

OFF TOPIC, the art place near me is called "The Cummer".

    Gay bar

Give me something that looks pretty and plays well and i'm a happy clam. RE5 recently added multiplayer VS mode (have to pay for it, but it's totally worth it)
And it's a sold script. MGS4 hit it off well too. i could go on.

    also, cocks.

If I were that picky with graphics I wouldn't be playing Counter-Strike.

yea you might play the nes from child hood memories and stuff. A kid now would look at you and go, wtf is this trash. For me though if it is entertaining i will play it. Like to see some stuff now days though, don't wanna see a box man sliding across the map. Oh and cs 1.6 is hard to play now cause i laugh at the nades that slide across the cround at them or the m4 that is as thin as a pencil lol. Ah those where the good old days even back in 1.4 cs.

I was thinking back yesterday on how awesome Mario 64 was on the Nintendo 64. The graphics were top line when it was released and the gameplay rocked. I haven't come by another game on the same genre since that plays like it. Not even the following mario games came close. The 2D Mario games on NES and SNES were the closest runners to it.

needs more Fs; FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU- have to have a good ratio

    The best is:

    Graphics 5/10 (10 being crisis)
    Gameplay 10/10 (if possible)

If the graphics are too good I can't even play it D:

Win. I remember staying up on school nights when I was younger and getting in trouble for playing that into the morning hours. It's still an epic game compared to today's releases, and I would gladly pick it up and play it again if I could be bothered to hook up my N64.

    ......

Frick, why didn't I think of that sooner. LOZ:OOT on a 52" LCD HDTV? Yes please!
