I'm looking into purchasing a gaming headset so I can spread cheer for all to hear (plus I want to verbally claim cheese and crackers is a TROLL) sometime after x-mas...any recommendations? I've been flipping back and forth between the Razer Carcharias Gaming Headset and the Logitech ClearChat Pro USB Headset but I'd like to know if there are any better please and thank you!

Tritton's gaming headsets are pretty good. I have the AX51 Pros, they have 8 discrete speakers, 4 in each side (for true 5.1 surround). The sound quality is really good, and the 5.1 surround is definitely noticeable and works quite well. They might be a bit on the pricey side if you're on a budget though.

If you are looking to talk mostly and don't mind playing css through your speakers then I would suggest a webcam. It lasts a lot longer than the headsets I have purchased. (probably because I don't fling around my webcam)

Rough budget would help. Otherwise I would recommend headsets like the AKG HSC271 at over $300 bucks which would be completely pointless if you don't have $400 bucks to drop on a headset.

I would honestly rather buy a decent standalone mic and kick ass headphones. This way you can use the headphones for CS but also use them when you go on a road trip, have to fly somewhere, etc. You don't need a microphone when you're listening to mp3s.

True. I just use my web camera mic (built into my web cam) and head phones/ear phones and it works fine. Its a cheap web camera but everything works
