So, basically I'm a newb at CS:S and all things concerning it. I played 8 straight hours the other night on the PF:ZM server and spent most of the time running around in circles trying to stay away from and out of "Illegal Spots" (which Colton/AF Nebraska Trainee explained to me are bad) and "backstapping" (apparently another bad thing as well to some people) everyone unlucky enough to be locked in a room with me after becoming infected (which usually was followed by the phrase horse shit from me). Damn enjoyable time. I've spent most of my gaming life playing RPGs (Planescape, Deus Ex, Daggerfall, Persona 3) and only gaming with others on consoles (GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Halo 2). I mainly choose to stay off the net because gamers on the net take things way to seriously. For me gaming isn't life, it's a way to get away from life. So, there you have it, my obligatory introduction topic. Hope it lives up to everyone's standards. If not, well I'm sure I'll be stuck on a prop again soon so you can display your displeasure with my subpar posting abilities in a violent and creative way then. tl;dr Hello
Joliment mis, I'm sorry you didn't have the greatest first experience. But I can ensure you that it is not always like that, it's really quite the contrary. Everyone is trying to stay alive and find the best spots and I can see how that can get hectic but no one really means any harm. They will get mad and call names but you just have to brush it off. Their is always the next round, It's all about just having fun. I would recommend you to give the server another shot, If you see anyone with the [pF] or =pF= tag in their name, Just ask for help with things you do not understand and admins should be more then welcome to help you. Also if you would like to look at the "Illegal Spots" you can find them here http://plaguefest.com/index.php?/forum/77-illegal-spots/ And if you feel that you are being Admin Abused make a post in this section. http://plaguefest.com/index.php?/forum/8-admin-abuse/ I'm not a admin just another player on the server, also nice to meet you an welcome to the forums.
if i see you on i will take you around. i rage but only for a round. best thing to do is either follow an admin around, a person with =pf= around or sit in spec and just watch people. that way you will see how to properly play. even if you get yelled at, burnt, frozen dont worry about it. most of us wont remember you for it the next round because we are just so worried about making it somewhere. a few very simple rules. there are some exceptions but this is the quick rundown. if you have to crouch to get somewhere its probably illegal. if you have to balance on something its probably illegal and for the love of God if you want in a room and the doorway is already full of shit...... go somewhere else. since your new i would watch how people build cades. the idea is not to just throw everything at the door but if things are placed in a certain manner then it makes it more difficult for zombies to get in. sorry you didnt have a great experience but as you can tell tensions are high pretty much all the time so its just something you learn to live with. 8 hours was a long time to play so you probably have a pretty good understanding of whats going on. the more you play the better you will get and before long you will be raging at noobs who throw a grenade on your cade to get in. hope to see you around. backstabbing isnt bad. DO IT!. some people will bitch about it but dont worry about them. especially if haplo is near you..... def stab him.
Lodus, is that your in-game name? Sorry if we were harsh on you being that it's your first time on the server. We get a LOT of transient players on the server (mainly from Russia) and unless you let us know who you are and what your playing level is, it is impossible to keep track of everyone that comes and goes on the server. But now that we know who you are and what your playing level is, welcome! I'd be happy to show you around - just add me on Steam! Like Ginger and Ecstasy said, the best way to learn the maps and where illegal spots are is to view the forum and hang out in spec a few rounds to see where people go. And don't be afraid to ask questions. =pF= tags are our regulars, [pF] are the admins. Hope to see you soon in-game!
Nope, Cockbean's post did that. Now my post is summing up the summing up of the posts that were summed up. Hey Lodus, if you need help DO NOT ADD ME TO STEAM I DON'T HAVE ONE EVEN IF IT LOOKS LIKE I DO I PLAY AT MCDONALDS THEY DON'T HAVE A STEAM ACCOUNT. Instead "Sup, cya ingame. i'll help you if you want"
Yeah, and fuck non-backstabbers lol, all they're gonna do is bitch and whine, no rule against it either. I always do it and find the raging quite funny. Best strategy, let them think you're not gonna back stab them, then near the end of the round, GO NUTS!
Hey Lodus. If you ever see me on, don't bother trying to camp with me. If people with me turn, I will shoot them in the face. If I turn with people near me, I will stab them in the face. Either way, someone will bleed. Other than that, enjoy the server. :tard:
Thanks for the warm welcome. It wasn't a bad experience, just a learning one. And yes, Lodus is my ingame name.
