Limit upload speed to 80% of your maximum upload.
    Up the connection limit.
    Port forward.

What you need is to optimize your TCP/IP stack. Based on your network connection speeds and your latency will determine the packet size and other IP parameters.

The best thing to do is download one of dozens of IP Stack optimizers out there that will set your network parameters for maximum efficient transfers. It does make a difference if you are running DSL, Cable or even the latest FIOS as network optimization will help dramatically with your throughput performance.

As you can see below in Speed Test, I pretty much maxed out my packet performance and I get about 3.5MB/s (3.5 megabytes per second) from uTorrent.

    Note on uTorrent:
Based on your connection speeds, you also need to modify your performance settings in the Bandwidth Tab to reflect your throughput.
Example: Global number of connection will raise how many session can be active, the more the better (if you have the bandwidth).
Same with number of Connected Peers, not to exceed Global number of connections.
Finally minimize the number of Upload Slots per torrent to under 10.

    Good luck.
