Just figured I'd share some tips on how to be a sneaky asshole and get lots of kills as a zombie. A lot of this might seem like common sense to the regulars and I'm not saying that I'm a particularly good zombie-player, but I figure this might help out some of the newbies who might be lurking. 1. Play as a half-zombie. Half-zombies, due to their small size, have a huge advantage over all other types, particularly if you like a sneaky style of play. They can slip by unnoticed while the larger zombies draw fire. While more experienced humanz will know to keep an eye to the floor, many noobs will almost entirely ignore half-zombies if there are larger ones about. Also, the half-pint's small size makes it a smaller target, so you will tend to be hit less often anyway even if everybody is shooting at you. While the other zombie-types *can* be used quite successfully, they all call for a different style of play, and I'm only really familiar with half-zombies so that's what this guide will focus on. 2. Camp below edges, particularly when there are no other zombies about. Often enough, somebody will see you run to the edge and decide to take a quick peek to see if you're still there. Even experienced players will fall into this trap sometimes. Act quick: jump up and stab as soon as you see the corner of a boot, or the human can keep you pinned to the ground. 3. If you get stuck in somebody's barricade, don't reach for that !ztele button so soon! While using e to push objects is tedious, even a well-made barricade will usually fall over if you're willing to be patient. Try to readjust your position if you need to pull instead of push or vice versa, and remember that the reach of e is further than you might expect. Look for weak spots in the barricade, distract the humans inside by knocking over trivial parts of the barricade so that while they're focused on fixing it you can knock over something more substantial. Also, try jumping up and revealing yourself. Humanz will sometimes panic and, in their haste to kill you, destroy their own barricade. It's always nice when humanz do the hard work for you, amirite? 4. Never give up! You have a duty to your zombie brethren to supply brains and add to our legions, and the brains of well-defended humanz are much more nutritious and delicious than those of noobs (by which I mean that it's more satisfying to breach a good spot, even if you lose more lives). There is no such thing as an impregnable spot (well, for the most part). At spray spots, like the bus on zm_mall or the red crate on zm_lila_panic, just charge constantly. You're undead, so who cares if you die a lot. You will usually break through eventually. Run in a zig-zag pattern when they shoot at you, but try to run straight if you can. Don't start weaving until they start shooting you. 5. Team up with other zombies. Make use of team-speak (by pressing u) to coordinate stacking and call in reinforcements. Usually it's best for half-zombies to be the ones on top of a stack just because they're less likely to be noticed when they pop up, but if somebody refuses to boost you, it's better that you boost them rather than leave in annoyance. Try to get behind the bigger zombies and use them as meatshields. When they die, the humanz won't notice you behind them, while also having their guns aimed at head-level instead of floor-level, and you'll have just enough time to give them a zombie-hug before they realize their fatal error. There is no "I" in undead horde! 6. Distraction is your friend. Humanz are a panicky bunch. If you assault the weak part of a spot with large numbers, the humanz will foolishly concentrate their fire on that point-of-entrance and neglect the others. That's it for now, pretty basic stuff I guess but I'm kinda tired. Hopefully other members can add more tips
I'm only going to give you a hard time because one, I knew this already from playing zombies for too long and two, I don't want other people to know this stuff D: Its easier to get points if your playing with idiots.
Bump^ Dude, jumping through stuff is always funny, or on those servers where the zombie spawns quick, hide in the best room and wait for people to get in...then kill them all!
Just thought of one: when you're boosting people up to a spot, don't just stay in one place boosting them! Boost one or two zombies, and if they fail move over a few feet and try again. Boosting in the same spot over and over doesn't work very well, but moving around - they often don't expect that.
thats true but people are dumb and it will take like the whole round for a zombie to notice u r standing there waiting for them to jump on you, and then u move 20 cms to the right and they lose u and u have to wait again.
i dont reveal my sekrets. all i have to say is that the fast zombie is suited to my playing style, i like to eat brains before humanz know whats up.
