Well, about two weeks ago my laptop screen started to just white-out and then slowly fade from the top to the bottom. I thought it was just something random, and just turned off my laptop and back on.
I started everything back up normally as always and after a while, again, it just whited-out and faded to black. It got and would just white-out on start up. I would leave it on and see if it could go away and then i heard the account log in. I think it's the display but im not sure since I don't know alot about computers.

It started happening shortly after I had downloaded Half-Life and TFC.
If im lucky once in a while it will work normally for a short while.
I un-installed HL and tfc but that didn't work.

My brother resorted to completly erasing everything off the laptop.
Now I don't know how to get everything back to the way it was.
EDIT: By the way, that didn't fix the problem so it still whites-out and blacks out.

The only thing i can do is use the internet and thats about it.
This laptop came with an nvidia card and that isn't working.

I can't even play anything anymore... My laptop was my main source of entertainment.
We're gonna call Dell for help and hopefully everything will be fixed.

So far these passed few weeks have been shit for me and i've had too much time thinking too much about what's been happening lately to me...

sounds like the screen is going out/bad. Unfortunately, this is a problem, and the screen isnt usually covered by most warranties (you'd have to specifically check).
