My list of server rules....The way they should be.

1. Players should respect all admins. If they fail to, they are subject to being muted or kicked/banned on the severity of harassment.

2. Admins should also respect players. sometimes.

3. Do not abuse your privileges...only when other admins are on.

4. there is no spoon

5. Use @ to talk with other admins, whether in all-speak or team chat. doesn't really matter.

7. If you spot a hacker/sploiter record a demo, then ban. remember to up the demo.

8. If you spot someone with the name N*****/spink/gook etc ban em on the spot. they're a troll and you shouldn't have to warn them. don't even think about it. just do it. DO IT

9. you noticed there's no 6.

10. Respect the older admins, they know more than you do, and have more experience.

11. Don't be afraid to mute or gag someone if they're pissing you off. chances are they're pissing other people off too. especially if it's over the mic.

12. use votes for EVERYTHING

14. half zombies are the best. gtfo.

15. Regardless what anyone says, the mp5+p228 combo is the best, hands down. this is not a rule, it's a way of life.

16. don't make 9 different binds about rules. nobody reads them anyways and when they press "ok" on our MOTD they automatically abide by them.

First offense: Warn/ Kick/ 5 minute ban.

Second (which is usually the final time) offense: 10 minute ban.

Of course it depends on what they do. Let's say they come in blatantly shouting racial obscenities. This in my book constitutes a ban at the most I can, then have one of the Lead server admins make it a permanent ban.

Let's say they're breaking a barricade, that's usually a kick on the spot as it's pretty much clearly stated in the rules that it's not tolerated. A ban would follow up if it continues.

Admin disrespect should roughly be a short mute, and repeated disrespect can go into what you feel is right, a 5-10 minute timeout, or just a kick. Another thing that would fall under this is someone speaking out against the server, you know those hotheads that come in, get turned or don't understand how first zombie works and scream "Fuck you, fuck this server and fuck all the admins." You can just mute them and gag them. It just depends on who you are. Do not exceed a 20 minute ban.

Inappropriate sprays (which I don't really see anymore, so that's somewhat good.) depending on the material displayed (Stark naked women, everything exposed = a kick and asked to change sprays, if it persists it turns into a short ban, Child pornography [yes, it's used still] is a permaban on the spot.)

Microphone spam is generally spoken for on its own. Mute on first offense, ban if they get around it for 10 minutes.

Illegal spots-- Let me just say is one of the heaviest rules broken on the server. It's a warn over the mic and using admin chat a few times. Slap them once to get their attention, and warn them again. If they do not move, freeze them. We don't need to kick them from the server as it is not something worth that type of punishment. Wash, rinse, repeat.
IMPORTANT: If there is a crouch spot or a ledge spot that looks questionable to you, as in doesn't look like in any way or form you're able to get them no matter what way you try, talk with other admins online and discuss it. You guys are a team and you need to come together as a group to make decisions on certain spots. Most admins I've seen online have different rules about different spots and about different things, so you must. must. must. must work together to make it clear to the players in the server.

but seriously. these rules are the ones i've always followed as an admin. and i've not gotten into any scruff by following them. Players will get angry, but who cares. they're probably the ones that are wrong. tl;dr dont be stupid and use your judgement. you're an admin. you've got authority. don't let people push you around on your turf.
