    usually when a hotdog is made, it's got a bunch of fillers, like "trim" which is mostly animal fat. in a typical hotdog, its got about 80% meat, a mixture of 10% two other meats for flavor, and 10% filler for volume.

    "kosher" meats like the bologna and hotdogs usually have little to no fillers, and its about 95% meats and even less filler.
    its also more expensive.


    the higher the fat content of an item, the lower its cost, but the more Leaner it is, obviously, the more it will end up costing, because it's using more meat.

    thats why a good tender steak is always expensive :wink:
