Ok guys my game name is to =pF= Zanarkand. I've been asking everyone on server what they want in a map and hardly anyone listens so admin suggested forum. Firstly the map i'm making which is a giant pyramid so far which is planed to have 4 passages out into the desert/maybe a 3 building town. There will be an exit at the main entrance and out of a damaged bit of the pyramid with 2 of the passages from the spawn leading to each. Each passage will have 2 hazards including collapsing floors into acid which does 1000 damage a sec, pits that kill cts but zombies can climb out of, a long corrider with spikes either side that do 100 damage a hit if touched (this is designed to make people more oganized and stop blocking, moving walls that crush people, lazers, traps which spring up from the ground, a lake fullof sharks or crocodiles if I can find them and falling rocks. The spawn will also collapase after 30 seconds by a rock slide from above killing afks, smashing the floor. This will mean that any cts that teleport when their cade gets broken will fall and die while zombies will survive the fall and be able to climb out via a ladder. The map itself is generally designed to be a huge maze with secrets such as a long tunnel where you have to crouch to get in which crushes any guy who goes infornot obeying rules lol. Other secrets will be a teleport room to the small village(3 buildings lol), the top of the ptramid outside and next to the spawn. There will be rooms at the top inside the pyramid that can be blockaded including the teleport room and the buidlings outside. If at all possible i would like to get a flak 88 put on the top of the pyramid for some extreme fun. INEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS IDEA? WHAT OTHER TRAPS I COULD DO? WHAT OTEHR SECRETS? TURN INTO ESCAPE WITH HELICOPTER AT TOP? ANY OTHER IDEAS? SURVIVAL OR ESCAPE? final note.. This map will results in death if cts are not organized with the traps if they block each other and no cts will telelport at last second if cade gets destroyed because they will die. This map is designed to make the game fast flowing and a race against time. I also plan to have the console saying some funny things as you do.
Glad to see you took my advice and joined the forums ^^; INEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS IDEA? Its a good start, I would start with some sketches if you can draw, The traps seem related to the map and would work. WHAT OTHER TRAPS I COULD DO? I would start making the map first, see where you need traps after. WHAT OTEHR SECRETS? Secret passage ways or teleports work well. I would make the secrets hard to find and not obvious so you don't have every single person running to them. TURN INTO ESCAPE WITH HELICOPTER AT TOP? That is up to you, If I was you. I would make this escape, make a "pully" from the top to the three houses or something where a helecopter is waiting or will pick up. ANY OTHER IDEAS? Make sure the lighting is dark, use fire inside SURVIVAL OR ESCAPE? With traps, I would say escape or you will get people shooting zombies into the traps the entire map
Good idea. Should be interesting. Be sure to make the hallways wide enough so that we dont have traffic jams when 20 ppl try to walk thru it. As for ideas, you can research what the original pyramid builders did for traps. They would build tunnels that end, make blocks slide out of the wall, secret buttons to step on (dunno if they did that), those are some ideas. You could make it an escape map, seems like its set up for that type of map. Maybe u can make a pulley that goes from the top of the buildings in town, to the top of the pyramid, once at the top of the pyramid, the map fills with acid up to the top of the pyramid or something. Or maybe if u want the heli, u can make the heli circle the map, and at two certain areas (town, pyramid?) it can lower and pick up humans. Then the map fills with acid or something to kill everyone below the heli Other ideas: You should make a few dead end chambers that seal off once a human walks inside lol Maybe those can be where the pharaoh is buried. Secrets are good, teleports, hidden rooms/hallways, breakable walls, walls that u can walk thru.
Instead of traps that fall into acid, make the traps like spikes/sharp rocks. Make a lot of obstacles inside the pyramid. (e.g. broken pieces, rocks, whatnot. Try not to leave a huge open space) And instead of a rescue helicopter, do a plane, like in Sahara. XD Best of luck to you. Ok guys on my map i can see the skybox but everything else is pitch black and for some reason i cant find enviroment light on entity any suggestions. Ret what about rooms that fill up with sand looking water lol. Like quicksand so they know they are gonna die but no way of stoping it sealed after they enter. If you look at the lost world map a T-rex runs around killing everyone so maybe I could do that with a pharoah if you go into his chamber with teleports jsut behind him. Also if we do sahara to be even more fun why dont i make a boat hidden in sands with guns in that fire across the planes path so even if someone gets on helicopter/plane they might not escape. I need help with the light though i dont understand it.
Go into your entity report and find any entity with light, then delete it. Light your map when you're done with brush work and what not.
Do that one blimp from the mummy movie. and make it so when the the blimp gets to a certian time limit(when you want everyone who didn't escape to die) it floats off and the pyramid explodes,killing everything(MAKE SURE EVERYONE LEFT DIES IN THE PYRAMID). Also put my Avatar on the side of the blimp!
what about sand that fills up the map that kills everyone if they touch it. It will look the pyramid is sinking jsut as the bliump takes off.
I like the idea. try to make it as less campable as possible. escape maps are horribly prone to camping on ledges and long bridges. it could also be a trapfest. i love maps with a ton of traps. can't wait to test out a desert map.
Sure that sounds good, lol. Quicksand type stuff would work just as well That gun idea kinda sounds cool. Just try to make it so that the humans can still shoot at the zombies when they are on the gun, so the humans basically have to try to survive while flying away by shooting the zombies off/away from the gun thing.
