We had a guy come into the zombie mod unlimited ammo server using a voice over. He wasnt mic spamming and it was providing a lot laughs for everyone there.. Then pops in Black Jesus with his rule book in hand and bans the guy for 60mins. I just dont see a reason to ban someone for that since it does not provide the player with any sort of advantage over the others. As long as the player isnt spamming the mic with it i dont see the harm.
he wasnt costantly using the mic BUT he WAS using it for everything he said and I banned him for 60 minutes because he was back talking me with it and refused to take it off several times when I asked him and he was using the excuse that he was black and I was "being racist" ==EDIT== He started using the comment that hes black and im being racist AFTER someone said that what if hes black and thats the way he sounds. thought that should be noted as well.
Generally, I'm not too fond of allowing people to use voice changers due to the spam it causes. It's not an 'official' rule but it's something that a lot of admins handle differently. In this case, if the player was talking back and disrespecting the admin then they were fine to issue a banning.
I am not quite sure why they would be disallowed. They are harmless as long as the changed voice is not annoying as hell, but that can be subjective. Which is something that needs to be fixed. There is simply too much deviation of procedure lately.
No the guy was very nice and had a very good attitude, wasnt spamming at all. Black has been on this huge power boost all day. The fun was just sucked right out of the server, and a lot of ppl left till he logged off. I wanna continue to play here, I love the server, but I cant play while he is on.. its just really insane how he is.. Could you ask him to chill a little maybe? This is a game and we are all here to have fun, and Black is acting like its boot camp. **EDIT** Black dont lie he never back talked you once, and anyone in the server at the time could agree with that. I wont say anything else I said my part and its up to you guys. But IMHO i think voice changers are harmless as long as the voice used inst some annoying 12 yr voice or squeaky. And BLACK PLZ rem we are there to have fun its not cool to come in there and ruin the game for everyone. I understand rules are rules but when the fun is harmless and no one is complaining about it then just let it be.
If I handled somthing improperly ray I am sorry and do what needs to be done but the ban was mostly for the back talking and claiming that he was black and I was being racist when he was clearly just using a voice changer
Im sorry if im acting mean or angry im having some issues irl I didnt want to get into it on the server but I will not use that as an excuse I WAS more strict than usualy but that was soley becuase at the time "not that time i banned whipper but before" there were no admins on but me and people were breaking the rules and i was just doing my best to enforce them. Its kind of hard to deal with 5+ people when your the only admin on and it can get frustrating which my have caused my strictness and anger. so I apolagize for being strict and I will try to calm down. I did not mean to drive you away from the server and i hope you can enjoy plaguefest any time not just when im not on.
The immediate 60 minute ban for a voice changer is extreme, especially since there is no rule against it. Please follow procedures more closely next time. I unbanned him.
Thank you Black for apologizing, its just hard to have fun when admins get on and get a big head and start to punish people for little things especially when it is increasing the fun for everyone. unfortunately I doubt he will return after that.
The majority of the time, voice changers are used for nothing other than to cause problems by spamming the mic with nonsense. There's a reason a lot of admins don't like when they are used. I never said it was fine, and I've mentioned in the past how there needs to be a lot more consistency when it comes to the rules. As for unbanning him, one of the reasons that he was banned was for disrespect, was it not? That also carries a one hour ban length, so it would have been fine to let him wait out his ban time.
