I suggest everyone do this to secure their accounts on a higher level.

    Update:

VALVe is so confident that this works, that Gabe Newell himself released his steam account information.

It would be better if they did what Blizzard did and made an authenticator or an auth app.

There better not be holes in this as well

This is very stupid in my opinion. If I go to a buddies place I need to auth his computer as well?

That sounds about right. You know I thought for Steam, they would do something that didn't sound sketchy as shit.

It's a one time thing, don't enable it if you don't want to use it. I don't see why you wouldn't want to though...

Generally, when you are being hacked, they gain control of your e-mail adress so they can reset almost everything on your account without you being able to regain control of all this...

The one time my second account got hacked, it was via steam password only. They hard code hacked it and I was notified via email that they changed the password and then the email of the account. I got it all back but I had no logs of anyone accessing my email. I still prefer this.

Not entirely true. Most of the time accounts are stolen by phishing methods, so they only obtain your steam login, then once they login, they change your e-mail on account. The account username remains the same, and after you provide proof of purchase for a single item associated to that account, steam resets your login. The only way they'd get lucky in getting access to your actual e-mail account is if your steam password matched your e-mail password and they so happened to try it out. That, or your steam account was stolen via a keylogger and while the KL was on your system you also logged into your e-mail account (from a non-saved session so it could record your keystrokes).
