Hopefully they'll improve upon the great things from Oblivion, while leaving out the bad parts. If done right, this could turn out to be one amazing RPG.
Definately. Finally after 5 years of waiting but it was worth the wait . Not only does Elder Scrolls come out this year, but also MAss Effect 3, and some other shit that I will likely waste my money on. Yay for me!
For sure! New Video! First trailer with in game footage. Plus some fucking epic ass music and whatnot as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSRtYpNRoN0
saw it already, the graphics look, well a little like oblivion but maybe that was on an xbox (hopefully)
I think it looks pretty good. The landscape looks like its gonna be pretty cool. I like what they show with the weapons and fighting too.
Looks like they completely overhauled the graphics, they look amazing compared to what was used in Oblivion. I hope I wasn't seeing things either when I saw the character dual wielding a staff and a sword, because that's pretty awesome. By the way, there's already a Skyrim topic in the Gaming forum on here.
Woot for merge =P Also yes. And the fact that you can do cast/sword or cast/cast which makes you use both hands and lets you more powerful spells. Also bows don't have crosshairs but are now more powerful =D I'm looking forward to that, because I love using bows, but I was a bit disappointed overall with them in oblivion. Also, here's a good review of it - http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/02/24/the-skyrim-trailer-analysed-shot-by-shot/
Dual casting sounds like it will be pretty fun. I too was a bit unimpressed with archery in Oblivion, which is why I used the construction kit to mod the arrows to have a bit more velocity. Instead of a full draw just lobbing an arrow into the ground after 20-30 feet, they actually behave much like real arrows would.
Well, that doesn't give me enough time to beat Oblivion! Stoked though. I've never played a game that I enjoyed so much besides the Fable series.
Supposedly, arrows are going to be a lot rarer, which is a problem for me because in ESIV I was a Marksman and Sneak tank. I loved sitting in front of someone, shooting them, and them not being able to figure out where I was. Also, there is going to be places where you can use your skills to make money, such as Woodcutting and such.
I have yet to use an arrow. I am a thief all the way. I love the whole character aspect. I get a little rush when I do it every time.
They're supposedly going to revamp archery in Skyrim. From what I heard, they were making it behave a little more like real world archery in regards to draw strength and how arrows impact things. They said it would end up making bows stronger than in Morrowind/Oblivion, so that's probably why arrows will end up being less common.
