The Contest/ Spectate/ Buri

As we all know Buri has spectate binded and uses it to escape being turned in order to up his KDR and thus ranking. It has been established that this removes you from the contest. Buri continues to do this and says he doesn't care about it and is not participating. However it is not in the rules thus is not illegal and he cannot be punished. I realize Buri is right. However I think the rules need to be changed in that going to spectate is worse than using ztele in that no one can receive that kill and you dont get the death which lowers your score. Where as when you ztele you will get killed giving someone a kill point and someone a death. So first and foremost I think the rules should be changed to include the using of spectate as a away to escape being turned as a kickable or bannable offense. Secondly and most importantly I think that Buri being able to use this during this contest month sets a horrible precedent. Even if he has removed himself from the contest other players will see it and thus repeat his actions. This isnt a personal attack on Buri as Ive heard that certain admins use spectate as well. I think that there should be one set of rules, at least for this month, not one for contest players and one for people who dont care.

i do this too. but if buri has admitted to it, and accepts that he's removed from the contest, then there's no problem. except that it causes mass amounts of rage.

anyone that DOES do this should have their STEAMS taken down and added to the Contest thread. just to avoid complications

I talked with buri about this he had no intention of being in the contest and that he well stop/cut back on doing this during the contest, so not to give anyone ideas/ anger them.
And yes i too have done the spectate

As I mentioned in the og post I don't give a fuck about buri and the contest. I could give two fucks about buri and his accent in general. I have a problem with people doing it during the contest, especially regulars on the server. The point of the contest if I understand correctly is to bring in more people to fill the server and then get the escape server back up. Personally I would love to cap zm around 48, so in effect the contest is counter productive to what I would like to see. However in the interest of the server I dont think regulars should be violating contest rules even if they don't want to participate....but what do I know, most you just think I'm a socialist faggot anyways.

I find this pretty retarded, especially the importance of rank on a ZM server....the lower the rank the better of a zm player you are anyways. Anyways, on the subject of the contest, I have a very serious question. We've all seen this and I have a feeling it's going to increase because of the contest. Idiots who stand too close to the edge and knife EVERYONE. You know, you get 20 people in a spot and they "accidently" get knifed by a zombie and boom, 20 free kills. This is byfar worse than spectating to avoid a death, imo.

we should've held this contest in cutsoms

but though it's going to be hard to keep track of everything,

maybe some people will root out the cheaters for us.

Hey, forget you. I do NOT have an accent. -Glare.- As far as spectating goes I don't think you can convince me that I'm affecting anyone's enjoyment of the game. When I even do do it it's very rare at that. But I do it in the first place because I'm usually surrounded by idiots that decide to stay close to an edge, ruin my cade, or just generally fail at life in general. Now that's something EVERYONE has been affected by, idiot players. But you don't see me pruposing you ban them because then we'd have even some admins getting the boot. So why don't you learn to enjoy your OWN experience instead of worrying about people enjoying themselves too much? I abide by every rule, I always make sure to stay out of any illegal spots, granted I know I tend to talk a lot but not many people express a problem with me. So why do you? Does it anger you that I can manage to enjoy myself so much while keeping myself out of trouble? If so then CSS is not for you at all, buddy. Not one bit. Don't go down the self-righteous "holyier than thou" path like some of the other admins have, because while you may be able to fool yourself into thinking you're doing good and that that's all that matters but sadly all you'll do is become a bitter nobody than very few, if any, people actually care about.

He's some Hispanic kid that has a weird accent even when he types.
    Case in point.

I think he is also illiterate because if he had read my post he would have realized I don't care about him. However for the benefit of the server I suggested that there be uniform rules for both contestants and no players in the contest. Whatever though because the contest doesn't seem to be bringing anyone in or keeping them around at this point.

Buri you can enjoy yourself all you want to. Pull out the latest issue of Cocks weekly and toss a beat to your shot of male genitalia while eating French onion sun chips. Who am I to judge? I just don't like the sound of your voice. You don't shut up and you say some stupid shit. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way. I'm not trying to mute you every time you join the server so obviously I'm letting you have "your fun."

If anything, spectating from zombies is worse than actually ztele'ing. I'm all for banning spectating from zombies. It shouldn't be tolerated, considering ztele'ing to avoid being zombified is "illegal".

You hardly have a perfect mastery of english and for you to make a hit at my ethnicity is insulting. Besides, it's called a typo, you should look it up. You don't know who I am, you obviously care more than you're willing to admit because you're trying so hard to prove you don't. LEAVE any unrelated comments about me TO Yourself please.

I'll clearly and openly say you're a fucking idiot. I didn't make a personal attack on you in my original post. You're the one who started those with your lecture on how I should learn to enjoy the server and not go down some self-righteous path (clearly a personal attack towards da punisher). So don't give me shit about leaving personal comments to myself. Please explain how I made a hit at your ethnicity, because I called you Hispanic based on your accent? Or maybe you think it was when I said your accent is weird because its Hispanic with a lisp? Either way neither of those are a hit unless you're a self loathing Hispanic and resent your accent. Clearly though thats your issue not mine. As for a typo I know they happen but the difference between pruposing and proposing is not a mere typo especially with the wonders of spell check. As for me I only care to the extent that I'm not going to let someone who has an inability to comprehend my original post distort it into a personal attack fueled by racism. Please feel free to voice all of your unrelated comments about me to everyone.

Haha, I was wondering whether someone would spot that. I was contemplating coming back and pointing it out an apologizing then re-purposing my post. Guess I got carried away. I'll just leave it at that, then. -Shrugs nonchalantly.- On the topic of irrelevance, I still don't think my accent was worth mentioning at all in any of this and that's why I flew off the handle there.

He asked what a buri is, not who I am. Even then, Poopyseed knows me well enough to joke with me/about me, you don't. So you obviously weren't joking around, clearly you had something seeded against me but I guess that's all out in the open now. You could have easily belittled me just as well by saying "some annoying kid/a person I dislike" or taken the high road, had some manners and said "Someone I don't care enough to talk about". It's easy to pull the odds in your favor when you point out the tiniest things about someone you dislike or are against. From my comments it's clear I dislike Punisher. I don't go into assuming things about his life or pointing out the mistakes he's made that have nothing to do with the topic at hand. When i'm whining to someone I know of course I'll come up with all sorts of different stuff, but this is a different forum of speech, a different topic at hand. But I'll end that there. It's over with, your choice if you want to keep it going. Though something tells me we've both already gone too far and someone'll end it for us if we can't agree to disagree and just dissipate.

You suck so bad, Brownie.

i fully agree with this one here. and with this little statement i again bring to the forefront a proposition regarding some sort of point system for just generally surviving a round. unless its the odd map where theres a spot or two that is nearly perfectly impregnable, your ussually a pretty lucky duck to be able to survive the waves of zombies coming to knock down your bookshelf/couch barricade from hell. or even just being sneaky enough to be the one guy hiding in a corner that 35 zombies cant find?

and so what say ye about a point for surviving? its not much. its not flashy. but its something .

and on the whole thing about going to spec, its always just seemed common sense that something like this shouldnt be allowed. just reitterating again whats been said, but its right there on a level of ztele'ing from a zombie. plus, hell, if you could get a point, a WHOLE point on the rank, wouldnt you want to stick around and fight those hordes tooth and nail?

your right. that is what she said.
