We just got the ZombieMod server running on the new box. The new box is a lot faster than the old box. We went from a Quad Core Q9550, 4GB of RAM, 500GB HDD with 6TB of monthly b/w to a Q9650, 8GB of RAM, a 1TB HDD and 10TB of monthly b/w for around $15 more. The more powerful specs combined with the much newer kernel running x86_64 (vs the old x86 kernel) will provide for great performance benefits. The number of slots has been raised from 52 to 64, as the server should be able to handle 64 players well, although this has not been tested quite yet. Anyhow, as previously stated, the IP's will remain the same, however, the old IP the server was originally on will no longer work. The only IP that will work now is 69.162.109.180:27015. Before, you were able to connect to the server using both IP's, however, we will no longer be using the 216.245.195.2 IP address. 90% of the players were originally on the 69.x IP address so it should not effect the player count much. On top of that, there will be less network overhead, improving performance even more as there wont be 40 different iptables rules re-routing the network traffic. Also... Well, I think I should just stop talking now. TL;DR: (You really should read it though). The ZombieMod server is now on the new box. IP's stayed the same. However, if you can not see the server, add 69.162.109.180:27015 to favorites.
You're supposed to hide some super secret message in the middle so the people that skim like yourself miss out. Atleast that's what should be done
Nice specs/box. Just played on it and my fast zombie was running around smoothly(usually doesn't). Also I didn't see lag in the server with ~50 players on, so judging from that gameplay, 64 players looks like it should be fine.
I was looking for it..but then got distracted on texture DM server. kyle you missed the messgae? I caught it on the first read through.
