Your first game and fondest memory?

Well, for me, the first game I ever played was Trolls on the Amiga. It wasn't like the crap platformers we get these days, it was pure brilliance. From using a Yo-yo as a grappling hook, to finding lost baby Trolls, it was pure fun.

It's not the most memorable moment in gaming for me though, that's reserved for a much deeper love.

    FINAL FANTASY 7!!!

From the moment I played it until the moment I finished, I was hooked. The sense of scale, grandeur, importance, it was magnificant. The battle system, while it's quite dated after playing other RPGs, was great, it allowed tactics and intelligence. The God-like power you gain when reaching level 99 is unmatched. Defeating the bosses, such as emerald and Ruby weapon, brought about a big sense of accomplisment.

I could go on, but I feel I may be boring you already.

Hmm... I remember playing Joust on the old Atari thing so long ago... But for what game I remember the most, that would have to be Diablo for the PC.

It was the first real PC game that I actually played constantly. I still remember when Boba-Fett started hacking on it, and became one of the most known players from Diablo...

So what? You've already gained our respect, you're obviously mature and responsible, we wouldn't care if you were 10 years old.

heh, i feel old, first game i ever played was on a commodore 64 and it played "over the rainbow" over and over again. this was a t school mind you.
umm most memorable game was oregon trail and mario bros

most memorable Pc game..... quake2. i played that thing to death on a amazing "monster2" system (moment of silence for 3dfx, please)
those were the days. imo they dont make games like that anymore. not to say newer games arent great, but they put too much focus into eyecandy any more and it feels like gameplay gets shafted most times.

First game I remember playing was frogger from the old atari system...def thought that was one of the coolest games ever at the time...

My fondest memory game....well...its a tie between 2 games:

    FF7 and Halo

I Absolutly love the Final Fantasy series, and played almost all of them, even downloaded an emulator and got the asian versions that had english captions..HUGE fan of these games.

Halo...I wasn't going to get the xbox, I thought it was an inferior system, and at the time of launch thought it would be hard pressed to beat the PS2 and the support that it already had in the gaming world. Then I went over to a friends house and the only game he had was halo(about a month after the system launched)...I started playing it....and was COMPLETLY hooked....oh man...I went out and bought an xbox the next day JUST for the game of halo....I am not a huge fps fan, but Halo takes the cake on all of them...as a result I still play that game today.

No, quiite the opposite. I was kidding around when I responded to this thread, but I would have to say that I am above the average CS:S age (although, contrary to what my first response would imply, that doesn't bother me in the least).

My first game that I played was the original pong. The first computer I had was the Vic 20 (that's the predecessor to the 'Commadore 64').
I guess my most memorable game would have to be Ultima VI -- That was the first game that I played which really 'pulled' me into the world it created.

Oh, and just to answer the obvious question, I'm 27.

10 - 30 is the age range for CSS really. Hank Hill from hellsgamers is 27 as well.

10-30... Uh oh... I only have 3 years left!

I need to cram in as much CS:S time as possible...

    In no particular order.

It wasn't meant to be subliminal-- it was meant to be taken as an aside. I've been waiting 4 (5...?) weeks to get some replacements for some faulty RAM (see the Hardware forum for my 'whine' posts). But since it can be taken as subliminal... I just may use it.

Despite the fact that I'm 13 years old. My first game was tetris for the original Gameboy. Yes, the fat grey one. Horrible graphics, good game. It was enjoyable and it was destiny for me to lead on later in my life a decade later from that day to own people completely in regular CSS servers and a month later, in Plaguefest too B)
